New Scholarship Launched At PCC For Manufacturing Program Students
A new scholarship has been launched at Pueblo Community College for students
enrolled in its manufacturing-related programs, and the initial awards will be
made for the upcoming fall semester. The Incognito Marketing Scholarship will
award two students $500 per semester for up to two years.
To be eligible, students must be enrolled in a machining, industrial
electronics, engineering or welding technology program. They must carry a
minimum of nine credit hours per semester, maintain a 3.0 grade-point average
and cannot qualify for financial aid.
Incognito Marketing is a creative design, advertising and marketing company
that has been promoting manufacturing companies for 33 years. It established the
scholarship as a way to support manufacturing-related education.
“Companies such as Incognito Marketing make it possible for PCC students to
receive a high level of education when they might not be able to afford it
otherwise,” said Diane Porter, executive director of the PCC Foundation that is
administering the scholarship. “We are thrilled to add Incognito Marketing to
our growing list of supporters.”
John Vukich, Director of Business & Industry Workforce Training at PCC, said
it’s great to see a company step up and take an interest in PCC’s technical
programs and provide scholarships for students who wish to continue their
education.
“It’s pretty significant that Incognito Marketing is funding this scholarship
when it can choose from a lot of other educational avenues,” explained Vukich.
“This also is a company located in Colorado Springs, so for them to come here
and provide this opportunity for students at PCC says a lot about the quality of
our programs.”
According to Greg Snyder, president and CEO of Incognito Marketing, many
young people need a little help to learn the skills needed to earn a good living
in industry. He said this scholarship is a small step toward strengthening our
economy and the American dream.
“We hope that manufacturing companies will contribute to the scholarship fund
and help train the employees they need,” Snyder said. “Creating this scholarship
is our way of supporting this vital part of the American economy and lifestyle.”
This year’s recipients will be notified of their award this summer. For more
